Biography
Robert A. “Tony” Buzzard has been practicing law in Lillington since graduating from Campbell University School of Law in 1991 with a Juris Doctor degree. Mr. Buzzard is not only the current Lillington Town Attorney but practices law as a partner in Bain, Buzzard & McRae, LLP, the largest law firm in Harnett County. Mr. Buzzard concentrates his practice in the area of litigation, handling trials in all types of complex criminal and civil cases including medical malpractice, workers compensation, personal injury, contract litigation and criminal defense. Mr. Buzzard is admitted to practice in North Carolina, in both the State and Federal Courts. Mr. Buzzard is a former President and former Vice-President of the Harnett County Bar Association. While in Law School, he finished as the 5th place National Finalist in the John Marshall Moot Court Competition and the 9th place finalist in the American Bar Association Mot Court Competition. He also was awarded an American Jurisprudence award in 1990 and was a member of Who’s Who Among American Law students all three years of law school. Mr. Buzzard received his undergraduate Degree from Illinois State University and received the distinction of being named an Illinois State Scholar. Mr. Buzzard has authored many writings including being a contributing author of “The Minister’s Legal Desk Reference” and a Co-Author of “Render Unto Caesar”. Mr. Buzzard has also successfully written and argued cases in the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
Mr. Buzzard was married in 1994 to his wife Tonya who is an assistant school teacher in the deaf and hard of hearing class at Buies Creek Elementary School.
