Lillington Fire Department

Organizational Statement

The citizens, in conjunction with the Town, established the Lillington Volunteer Fire Department in 1917 to provide the citizens with an organized fire suppression effort. Since that time the department has evolved into a public service agency. The primary function of the Department is fire suppression. Fire prevention through public education, non-transport emergency medical response, rescue, maintaining and improving our insurance rating of “5” are the secondary functions. The Department will assist any other agency inside or out of the Town limits when called upon with any available resources.

Ladies Auxiliary

With the help of Sherry Roberts, the Lillington Fire Department organized the Ladies Auxiliary in 2005 to assist and support the firemen. Many of the women who belong to the auxiliary are married to firemen and they know how hazardous a firefighter’s work can be. These women help out wherever and whenever they can. The women serve sandwiches and coffee to the firemen at the larger fires and also support the fire department by holding bake sales, yard sales, and various events. The ladies also assist with obtaining door prizes from local businesses for the annual Christmas party. You do not have to be a wife or relative of a member of the fire department to be on the ladies auxiliary. If interested please contact Sherry Roberts at Monthly meetings are held on various dates to accommodate those interested.
