The Mayor and five Town Board Members constitute the governing body of the Town of Lillington. The Mayor and Town Board members serve four (4) year staggered terms. Town elections for the Mayor and Town Board are non-partisan and at large. Elections are held in November of odd-numbered years. Harnett County Board of Elections 910-893-7553
Town Board duties include adopting the annual budget, establishing the annual tax rate, appointment of the Town Manager and Town Attorney, appointments to advisory boards and committees, and enacting local ordinances and policies as may be necessary to protect and promote the health, life, saftey, and general welfare of the Town and its citizens.
Meetings
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the L.D. Burwell Public Safety Building (second story above the Police Department) at 819 S. Main St., Lillington 27546. All meetings are open to the public.
